Trading Expertise in the International Market
Edible Nuts
are seeds of a large wild growing tree (Bertholletia Excelsa) native to the Amazon forests of Brazil, Bolivia and Peru.
The trees can grow to heights of 50 meters, producing 4 - 6" spherical pods, inside of which are found clusters of 12 - 25 hard shelled brazil nuts.
The pods, which fall naturally to the ground, are harvested from the forest floor and manually opened to extract the brazil nuts, which are then delivered to specialized facilities where they are cleaned prior to cracking and processing. The shelled kernels are then packed in vacuum sealed bags in cardboard cartons.
Brazil is also an exporter of in shell brazil nuts which are cleaned, dried and packed in jute bags.
A great source of vitamin E and with high levels of copper, magnesium, calcium and potassium, brazil nuts are also the best selenium food source in the world.
Today we are the biggest broker of brazilian origin brazil nuts sold to the international market.
Brazil Nuts
Cashew Nuts
Indigenous to Brazil, the cashew tree (Anacardium Occidentale) is cultivated principally in the north eastern states of Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte and Piauí accounting for over 80% of national production.
The tree itself grows to heights of approximately 14 meters and produces a pseudofruit, the cashew apple, appended to which is a very hard shelled nut containing the cashew seed or nut as we know it.
In Brazil, these hard shelled nuts are cracked and processed at modern fully automated facilities. The cashews are then graded by colour quality and sizes ranging, from large wholes to small pieces and granules used extensively in the confectionary and bakery industries.
Cashews are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants essential for maintaining good health. These include vitamins E and B6 together with minerals such as copper, phosphorous, zinc, magnesium and iron.

For many years Brazcomm has been a successful broker partner to all of the principal brazilian processors, sourcing FSSC, Organic and Kosher Certified Cashew Nuts for our overseas customers.
Spices
Pink Pepper
Brazilian Pink Peppercorns are the dried berries of a small shrub like, wild growing tree - the Pink Peppercorn Tree (Schinus Terebinthifolius) which is found primarily in the coastal regions of the south-eastern state of Espirito Santo.
The berries are hand-picked at maturity, during May to July. They are naturally dried to reduce excess moisture before delivery to the drying and processing facility. At the factory any remaining stems and stalks are removed along with any broken or off-colour berries. The berries are then dried in a hot air oven and eletronically colour sorted before packing in 5kg inner vacuum bags in an outer cardboard carton. The pink peppercorns have 3 classifications according to quality, these are GR1, GR2 and GR3.
Very aromatic and with a sweet mild taste and stunning appearance, pink peppercorns are being increasingly used to enhance the flavor of a variety of dishes and sauces as well as in mixed pepper blends and for garnishing.

Brazil is the world's major producer of the pink peppercorn and although processing is controlled by only a few companies, Brazcomm is an active broker partner to them for international sales.
Black Pepper
The Pepper Plant (piper nigrum) is a climbing vine native to the Malabar Coastal Region of Southern India and was introduced to Brazil in the 17th century. The principal producing regions in Brazil are the states of Pará, Espírito Santo and Bahia, contributing to make Brazil the second largest exporter to the International Market. Black Peppercorns are produced from the berries of the pepper vine, which are harvested in Brazil from July to October. The berries are treated with a hot water wash before being naturally or mechanically dried, grade classified and packed into double polypropylene bags.
Brazilian Black Pepper is classified into 3 grades:
ASTA (560 G/L)
B1 (540 G/L)
B2 (500 G/L)
Today the quality and taste of Brazilian Black Peppercorn has become the preferred origin of notable markets in Europe, North America and the Middle East.
Tonka Beans
Tonka Beans are the wrinkled, black-skinned, uniquely aromatic seeds of a flowering tree (dipteryx odorata) native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil, Venezuela and Guyana.

The trees grow to heights of 25-30 meters producing a pulpy fruit containing an almond shaped seed, the tonka bean.

These seeds are manually harvested from the forest floor and naturally dried before packing, usually in 20kgs jute sacks.

Containing coumarin, hence the name “Cumaru” in portuguese, Tonka Beans are widely used in the fragrance industry and also as a culinary ingredient. In France they are extensively used in gourmet cooking, and the unique aroma and flavour of the tonka bean has resulted in ever increasing demand for this truly Amazonian commodity.

Today Brazcomm is the export representative of major brazilian producers/exporters.
